The foundational structure of this course is a beginner training
course in Thai massage following my teacher's core practice:
listening.
To give and receive a massage is a magical conversation
between two bodies. For that we will explore how the body is
speaking to us.
This reflection will help us understand how our lifestyle and
patterns
impact our physical and emotional bodies. Our first and most
important topic in this course will be how to touch, feel,
communicate
with my body and the other person's body. Learning to offer a safe
space for your clients will enhance both the client and the practitioner
an unique experience.
My APPROACH
We begin with foundational principles and teach by providing
guidance, hands-on practice and repetition. The idea is that the
student doesn't just learn a technique to repeat but that it understands
how to feel the body and how to support a process. We will give a
lot of attention that the practitioner is in a comfortable position, not
bringing any stiffness when performing the massage. If the
practitioner holds tension, the client will notice and protect him/
herself by tensioning the body. For offering a high performance we
will use not only our fingers, but mainly our elbows, our knees, our
feet and even our sitting bones.
